Children's arights are at the heart of what we do
We stand up for the rights of all children. Our organization is active in over 130 countries. We are particularly concerned with those children who have to grow up without parents or who are at risk of losing their parents. They suffer most from poverty, rejection, and discrimination and are more likely to be victims of exploitation and abuse.
Strong relationships are the key to a fulfilling life
Our goal is to give children a loving home and strengthen families—and to help them take control of their own future. 92 percent of the children we support have formed loving and strong bonds and are able to pass this on. Our work has a lasting impact.
Sustainable impact on society and development
By improving the living conditions of children and families and strengthening communities, SOS Children's Villages makes an important contribution to the implementation of the United Nations' sustainable development goals. Our programs are led by local staff. This enables us to tailor our support services for children and families precisely to local needs.
Global network: active locally, connected globally
SOS Children's Villages is an international federation. Our organization consists of a network of over a hundred associations that has grown over decades, each rooted in its respective country and united under a common umbrella.
Financial backbone for programs in the Global South
The mission of our association SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit e.V., founded in 1963, is to promote and provide financial support for SOS Children's Villages facilities and programs. Our supporters in Germany are the backbone of our worldwide work.
