Health
We provide medical care to families in poor countries and psychological care to traumatized children worldwide.
Medical assistance
In poor countries, countless children die from simple and preventable diseases like measles or diarrhoea. With vaccinations, medicines and a doctor on site, we can save countless children's lives!
SOS Children's Villages provide medical aid in Africa and Asia. Our infirmaries and mother-child clinics, care for children and families.
The patients come from near and far: children, adolescents, pregnant women, mothers with their babies, families in need - and of course girls and boys from the SOS Children's Villages and SOS employees.
Trauma and therapy
Abuse, neglect, violence: The psychological wounds of traumatised children heal slowly and only through careful, intensive relationship work or therapeutic intervention.
Violence, the loss of parents or displacement can trigger severe trauma in children. If any of these remain untreated, it can massively affect their whole life into adulthood, and even the life of the following generations.
In poor countries our psychologists and therapists are often the only ones who offer competent help in dealing with trauma and psychological problems. The psychological support provided by SOS Children's Villages is an important building block for children to develop healthily and holistically in order to mature into self-determined adults.
